How to book a Dominican Republic villa

The clearest shortlists come from guests who share a few specifics up front: your travel dates or a flexible window, the number of adults and children, how many bedrooms you actually need, your preferred destination (or whether you’re still deciding between Casa de Campo, Punta Cana, and Cap Cana), and anything that matters most — chef service, beach access, golf, a marina slip, or privacy for a wedding or group event. The more of that we have at the start, the fewer back-and-forth emails it takes to get to a villa that actually fits, and the less likely you are to fall in love with a home that turns out to be the wrong size or the wrong distance from the beach.

Advertised availability and rates are a starting point, not a guarantee. Villa calendars, seasonal pricing, and minimum-stay requirements change, and holiday weeks in particular carry different terms — longer minimum stays, premium rates, and less flexibility — than the rest of the year. A villa’s advertised bedroom count doesn’t always tell you what you need to know. Two eight-bedroom villas can sleep the same number of guests very differently depending on room sizes, bed types, and whether bedrooms are split across a main house and guest casitas. We confirm the actual sleeping configuration against your group’s needs — who’s sharing with whom, and whether that works — rather than relying on the headline number alone.

Staff and chef service

Staffing varies by villa. Some come with a full team — housekeeping, a butler or property manager, sometimes a chef — included in the rate. Others include housekeeping only, with chef service available on request for an additional cost, and a smaller number don’t offer chef service at all. We confirm which applies to a specific villa before you book, rather than assuming every property in the collection is fully staffed or chef-included, since getting that wrong is one of the more common ways a booking disappoints a group on arrival.
